Gold Price per Kg In Congo: A Buyer’s Guide

Home / Copper / Gold Price per Kg In Congo: A Buyer’s Guide /

If you are searching for the gold price per kg in Congo, you probably want one number. The honest answer is that there is no single Congo price. What you pay for a kilo depends on the world benchmark price on the day, the purity of the gold, the discount you negotiate, and who carries the costs of assay, export, and shipping.

This guide walks you through each of those so you can judge any offer you receive, from us or from anyone else.

Today’s benchmark: about $130,000 per kg

Every serious gold deal starts from the international price, quoted in US dollars per troy ounce. One kilogram is 32.15 troy ounces.

On 28 October 2026, gold traded at about $4,055 per ounce (Fortune). That puts one kilogram of pure (24-carat) gold at roughly $130,400.

This price moves every day. It was about $4,150 an ounce a month earlier, a swing of more than $3,000 per kg. Any quote you receive should name the date and the benchmark it uses, usually the LBMA price fixed in London.

Why gold from Congo sells below the world price

Most gold from the DRC and Uganda is sold as doré bars or alluvial dust, not refined bars. You pay for the gold it contains, minus the costs of turning it into refined metal and moving it to you. Four things set your final price:

  1. Purity. Doré and dust usually contain other metals, often silver. Only the gold content is paid at the world price. An independent assay measures it.
  2. The discount. Buyers agree a percentage below the benchmark. It covers refining losses, risk, and the seller’s margin, and it is negotiated per deal.
  3. Who pays the costs? Assay fees, export royalties, permits, insurance, and freight add up. A price for gold collected in Kampala is not the same as a price delivered to Dubai or Switzerland.
  4. Order size. Larger, regular orders usually get a better discount than a one-off kilo.

What a kilo costs: a worked example

At $4,055 per ounce, one kilo of gold at 90% purity contains about $117,300 of gold. With an example discount of 4%, you would pay about $112,600. The table shows the same sum for other purities.

Purity (gold content)Value of gold in 1 kg (US$)Price at an example 4% discount (US$)
99.9% (refined bar)130,200125,000
95%123,900118,900
90%117,300112,600
85%110,800106,400
80%104,300100,100

The 4% is an illustration only. Your actual discount depends on the product, the volume and the delivery terms. The sum to check any quote is simple:

\text{Price per kg} = \text{price per oz} \times 32.15 \times \text{purity} \times (1 - \text{discount})

When a price is too good to be true

Gold offers from the Great Lakes region attract many scams. Walk away if you see any of these:

  • A price far below the benchmark. No real seller gives away 20–30% of the world price. A deep discount is bait.
  • Fees before you see the gold. Requests for “export tax”, “clearance,” or “stamp duty” payments up front are a classic trick.
  • No independent assay. You should be able to have the gold tested by a lab you trust, or send an agent to watch.
  • No paperwork. A real exporter can show a mineral licence, company registration, and a certificate of origin for each lot.
  • Pressure to decide fast. A genuine supplier will still be there after you check their documents.
